Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering constitutes a multidisciplinary area aimed at the regeneration of damaged body tissues.
A tissue is regenerated when it is replaced by another identical tissue with the same function. Thus, it is not a “repair” but rather a “regeneration” since in the former, new tissue is not created but rather scar tissue, when with “regeneration” healthy tissue is reproduced.
Multiple evidence-based studies demonstrate the accelerating potential of LR-PRP (Leukocyte and Platelet Rich Plasma) tissue regeneration processes, consolidating this therapy as a pioneer in modern medicine.
Tissue Therapy using LR-PRP also provides additional qualities for the treated joints such as analgesic, anti-inflammatory action, protection against fibrosis or its outstanding bactericidal effect.
Growth Factor Therapy – LR-PRP –
What does it consist of? It is a modern cell regeneration technique that consists of extracting blood from the patient (like a blood test) to infiltrate it after processing into the patient’s own damaged structure/s.
LR-PRP is a biological product that is obtained by centrifuging blood, selecting to obtain it by separating the fraction of platelets and/or leukocytes or white blood cells that are rich in growth factors of red blood cells and subsequently reimplanting them. in the affected area in the same session. These factors stimulate and regenerate damaged tissues.
The effectiveness of LR-PRP depends fundamentally on the preparation and application in each clinical case. At Vertebra Clinic we have our own preparation and application protocol, carried out in complete asepsis and in a Clean Room with a laminar flow chamber that guarantees the quality of the intervention.
Therapy for injuries such as: Knee and hip osteoarthritis, shoulder tendinitis, partial ruptures of the shoulder tendons, patellar tendon tendonitis, elbow tendonitis, Achilles tendon tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, chondropathies, bone injury regeneration due to fractures, muscle ruptures, etc.
Are there collateral risks? No, since it is an autologous procedure where the donor and recipient are the same individual.
